And there goes another review: Clarins Eclat du jour.

Yes, I know what you are thinking: "ANOTHER moisturizer review???". Well, I probably said it before, I went a little skin care crazy on my last trip.
Today I'll be talking about Clarins' Eclat du Jour Daily Energizing Lotion Spf 15.

I used to use this last summer. It was pretty nice but it had no SPF and was in a jar, which were the two things that annoyed me the most about that product. So you must imagine that when I saw they came out with this product I JUMPED on it! The Eclat du Jour line is specifically designed for young skins and it is supposed to accentuate the brightness and freshness of your skin.

PROS:
- SPF 15
- PUMP bottle
- Gel consistency absorbs fast.
- Lovely, fresh scent of plants.
-Brightens the skin.
- Moisturizes well for a normal skin. (they also have a cream version for drier skin)
-Didn't break me out.
-Works perfectly under makeup.

CONS:
-Very small bottle (1oz)
-Bottle is made of glass
- Need about 3-4 pumps to cover my whole face and neck ( note I like to apply a thick layer of moisturizer)

Overall, I like this very much, and it would be pretty perfect if it would be for the puny amount of product you get. I will repurchase depending on how long this bottle lasts me. I am pretty skeptical though because I have had it for a month and can already see that the product has gone down quite a lot. I will definitely be trying their new Daily Energizer Wake-up booster, which is basically a really light morning toner.

What is your current moisturizer? Do you like it?

NUXE Sérum Crème Fraiche de Beauté

A lot of you ( from the US at least) probably don't know a lot about NUXE, as I don't think it is sold here. It is a french brand that does many beauty product concerning a variety of issues. I personally love this brand, and never fail to stock up on a couple of products anytime I go to France.

Last time I went, as I entered the store to repurchase my beloved Planter's moisturizer (check out my review here) I stopped at the NUXE counter and my attention fell on this product the Sérum Crème Fraiche de Beauté is a '24hr moisturizing anti-fatigue concentrate for face and eye contour'. And after a long consideration and a little help from the sales woman, I decided to swap the thick cream for this fast absorbing serum.
I use it as a night moisturizer and an eye cream in the morning.

Pros:
-fast absorbing
-lightweight
-fresh, non overpowering scent
- works great as an eye cream under concealer
- nice packaging ( pump, glass bottle)
-moisturizes nicely
-works for all skin types ( says the bottle)

Cons:
-Not very available all over the world
- Would like a little bit of a thicker formula sometimes. I like feeling my face slathered in cream. Makes me think I can feel it being moisturized.
- Glass bottle could break ( I guess?)

As you can see, it was pretty hard to find cons for this products, and they were pretty rubbish. I am really liking this so far. I am still waiting to see how long the bottle lasts me.  It isn't a miracle worker, it won't do anything magical for your skin, but then again it doesn't claim that does it :)
It is just a good moisturizer.

IMATS HAUL!

Helloo!

So here is a little run-through every I bought at the IMATS. I am so excited by everything I bought! The quality is amazing!

Yaby Palette: I have no idea what the name of this is, but it's amazingly gorgeous! It's all very shimmery colors. Mostly brights, but a couple of neutrals. They are the MOST pigmented shadows I have ever owned. I am in complete awe in front of these!

L-R: Twirl, Obscure, Cherry Bomb, Nori

OCC Loose Colors: These are also the most amazing colors ever! They are not one bit boring! Twirl is a beige-y color with an orange duo chrome, Obscure is a white with a blue/green duo chrome. I just love how they change colors under the light. Cherry Bomb is an amazing shimmery hot, hot pink. I actually got this because I thought it would make an amazing lip color! And finally Nori is a hunter green with a slight bluish shimmer. I can't stop starring at them!

L-R: Strumpet, Hoochie, Trollop,Beta, Cha-Cha
OCC Lip Tars: I have heard SO much hype about these products. I was DYING to try them. They are supposed to have supernatural staying power. I haven't properly tested them so I can testify on that. yet. I have put only Trollop which is beautiful and Cha-Cha. Now I have to say I am quite disappointed by Cha-Cha. I thought it would be a nice light peach ( think Jazzed by MAC) but it looked really awkward on me. First it made me look brown, as in over-tanned, fake, ugly, dirty brown. And second, it had a bit of a jizz-lip effect, yummy(not). So I don't know what I'm going to do with that one. Maybe it will work for Halloween. We'll see when the time comes I guess.

LimeCrime Airborne Unicorne: Now I didn't actually get this at the IMATS, more like at the SpaceNK a block away, but I had been wanting to try this lipstick for so long I simply couldn't resist. The first time I tried it I was a little ambivalent, but I find that it actually kind of grew on me. Plus I love the hot-ish, pink stain it fades to be.

I also got facechart, love those! I never have enough, and another Zpalette. I wanted the leopard one but they were out of it to my desperation. Next time :)

B-F: Royal Blue, Electric, Fushia Fusion, Purple Splash (mascara)
Treasure Hunt

LA SPLASH Eyeliners: I already had a couple of their eyeliners and loved them. So when I saw they were at the IMATS I jumped on the occasion of getting more. I'm really getting into the whole color blocking trend, so I thought that getting bright colored eyeliners where an easy way to wear that trend. I'm so excited to try them!

Miss Adoro lashes: They were having a 12 for 24$ deal. So my friend decided to split it, 6 each. I tried to get a wide variety of styles. We'll see how I manage to use them as I'm not a huge false lashes person.

T-B: Baby Dome C180, Contour shadow C265, Smudger BE07
Royal & Langnickel brushes: I had never heard of this brand of ridiculously cheap brushes! Cheap yes, but still wonderfull! They have an INSANE amount of choices and they are SO soft!  I got the C180 because it looked like a dupe for MAC109, and it's exactly what I image the 109 to be so I am over the moon. I finally found a brush that works well to use my MAC Blunt. I haven't really tried the other two, so I don't know too much about them, but the shaped just seemed so interesting!

BeautySoClean Sanitizing Wipes: These are cosmetic sanitizing wipes for cream products. They due what they say. A must for make up artists.

MAKE-UP ARTIST MAGAZINE subscription: I had heard of this before and always wanted to try but I never knew where to get it. So I subscribed and got this month's issue at the IMATS. Haven't read it yet but it seems so fun! It's all about make-up, from the movies, etc.

So that is it. I had such a great time (as I probably said about 10 times earlier) I love these kind of events. They make me want to stay locked up all day and just do makeup, makeup, makeup!

Have a good night,

New York IMATS (Picture packed)

So yesterday I went to the IMATS. I was really excited because it was my first time going! I was a tiny bit disappointed because I thought there wasn't THAT MANY exhibitors, but I still had a lot of fun!

So I thought I'd share the pictures I took.
There were having a student competition. There was 6 competitors of different makeup schools. The theme was "Tribal" and since is them doing the make up for it:

And the line up:

They also had a little expo of different makeup related items used in movies ( recreation of dead bodies, special effects, etc):

Some more random things that were there:

Finally, their was an INSANE amount of youtube people ( beware of the awkward posing):

Estee Lauder DayWear Sheer Tint Release

I just came back from France yesterday night. On my way over, I, of course, couldn't resist a bit of duty free shopping. I stopped at the Estee Lauder counter to have a look at the Day Wear range, that I have heard so much about. I have never payed much attention to Estee Lauder, it was stored in my mind in the "old lady" drawer. Yet, recently they seemed to be popping up everywhere, every time with a new product, always even more appealing than the preceding one. I was initially looking for Day Wear Plus, that I have heard pixi2woo and a couple others rave about. Now, I couldn't seem to find it. Instead I decided to pick this up

DayWear Sheer Tint Release Advanced Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Moisturizer is a one shade fits all type of product. It has SPF15 ( something I require in a daytime moisturizer). It is marketed by Estee Lauder as being "skin super food" thanks to its high amount of anti-oxydants. It comes out as a white cream with tiny particles in it. When you rub it, the particles (pigments) explode and release a sheer tint and gives you a nice bronzed glow.

Now, this is VERY sheer coverage, which if you know me I love, but some may want more. It evens out your skin tone but will not cover any imperfections.

Overall, I really like this. It doesn't look like you have anything on your face except for the extra color. I don't think this would fit every skin tone, but they never really do right? Make sure you blend this well into the neck and hair line and.. DONT use too much unless you dig that whole Oompa Loompa Bonanza! I don't know if I'd repurchase but I'm definitely enjoying it while I have it.
