Sephora AirBrush Concealer 57 Review

I was using my Sigma SS224 to blend my concealer, but after about a year I found that the brush got A LOT less dense, and it shed like crazy! I just don't have time and energy to carefully pick 5 brush hair off my face every morning. So, as I had been eyeing the Sephora brush for a while, I thought I'd give it a try. Their airbrush collection always looks so pretty, soft and durable.

It is a nice dense, domed brush with synthetic bristles. As this is made for cream products so it doesn't shed and is good at blending them!
I use it to blend my undereye concealer (YSL Touche Eclat) or to apply and buff my Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer over any blemishes or scars. I have to say it works very well with both.
I do find that I have to go over my under eye area sometimes, and gently pat it to further melt the product into my skin, but other than that I really like it.

Now, I usually have a hard time buying brushes, just because I find theme very expensive for one product, but I am quite liking this, and it really made me want to have a further look into Sephora's brush collection!

What's your favorite concealer brush?

Current Skin Care Routine

As my skin has started to get better (without any intention of jinxing it), I though I would do a quick run through what I have been using. I know it seems like a lot, but keep in mind I do not use every product every night. Plus, if it's working for me then great!

Cleansers (R to L):

First, I use Neutrogena's Oil-free eye makeup remover to remove any eye makeup. This does leave some kind of film but I like because it is really effective, and doesn't require tugging on my eye. Next, I remove my face makeup with the oh-so-famous Bioderma Créaline. I then wash my face with Neutrogena's Deep Clean cream face wash. I have been using this for as long as I can remember. I have always went to back to it. It keeps my skin clear, doesn't dry it out and give that nice, minty fresh feeling to your skin, which I love. Then, one to twice a week I exfoliate with the Deep Clean Invigorating Scrub ( also this step has recently been replaced by the daily use of my clarisonic). I also do a mask about once a week.

Toners:

Morning: I have talked about how much I love the Clarins Eclat du Jour line. I use the Daily Energizer Wake-Up Booster every morning, it refreshes my face and wakes up my skin, making it look less tired and more radiant.

Night: Once again, I have already talked about my salt water trick (check it out here

Moisturizers:

Morning: Okay, i admit, I am being a little repetitive here, but I really do love that Clarins line ( in case you hadn't gotten it by now).

Night: Nuxe's Sérum Crème Fraiche de Beauté is a moisturizing and anti-fatigue serum, that I use under my eyes year round, and as a night moisturizer during the winter months. It is very moisturizing and since it's  serum it absorbes super fast!

Treatments:

I use La Roche Posay's Effaclar Duo if I have spot coming on, or a small one I want to get rid off. But if I pop it by any unfortunate turn of event (aka lack of self control) or if it is getting red and inflamed, then I pop on a bit of Neosporin antibiotic cream. I swear to you this little guy is a miracle worker!

I hope this was helpful to some of you. Let me know in the comments what your recent skin care routine has been!

Brand Crush: Clarins

You know that moment when you try to a couple of products from a brand and suddenly realize you're really loving said brand? Like a revelation?

Well I recently had one of those moments. With Clarins. I never paid much attention to them, I always pictured them as boring, nothing revolutionary. This summer though I tried (or retried rather) their Eclat du Jour line formulated for younger skins, and well let me tell you, my skin has never looked better! I wish I had before/after pictures to show you but I didn't think it would work so well! The range is formulated to make your skin look radiant and to get rid on any little imperfection thanks to plant extract (now keep in mind, it probably won't do much if you have a lot of acne). I do feel that my skin is more radiant and less imperfect. I use the wake up toner every morning as well as the moisturizer with SPF. The only thing that is annoying about it? You can't get it in the US! :( Not yet at least.)

The other product I tried that made me fall in love with the brand is one I stole from my mom. Recently my lips got really dry it was horrible! So I went in my mom's beauty cabinet (like any dutiful daughter would do) and I found Clarins' Extra-Firming Lip & Contour Balm. Now I don't know about the whole firming effect but it sure moisturizes really well! I think it's going to quickly make its way up my "Winter Essentials" list!

So do you have any miraculous new finds? What are they?

CHANEL Illusion d'Ombres in Epatant

I am aware that these are probably one of fall's most talked about product but I just couldn't resist reviewing it myself.

So a quick run through the CHANEL Illusion d'Ombres. They are some kind of creamy, moussy, fluffy consistency that deposits a somewhat sheer (not excessively so though) color with maximum shine and pretty glitterness! :)
It comes with a tiny angled brush that has a cap, so it is perfect to carry around with you.

The color I have is Epatant. It is described as khaki silver. I find it a lot more silver than anything in the pot at least. Once applied, you get a slight khaki undertone.
I initially had a very hard time using thing and didn’t like it very much! I used to use the brush they give with the product, and it would apply a thick very cool silver coat that would crease in about 2 hours (with primer).

Recently though, I decided to try to use it with my finger, dabbing the smallest amount all over my lid. TADA. A revelation! I got a thin super sparkly wash of color with those khaki undertones. My eyes looked like a stormy night sky. It lasted ALL day (with primer) if you were wondering!
So yes, I am officially hooked! This kids, is why you should allow yourself some playtime with new products!

I am not sure if this new love is a good thing or not, just because although they are to die for, they certainly do not come for free. And now I WANT THEM ALL!

So if you have not tried these, do yourself a favor and run to your nearest CHANEL counter and at least swatch them!
:)
