Mascara Collection and quick review

I have to admit it... I am a bit of a mascara whore! Although, not to boast or anything but I have been doing some very good progress on impulse buying and finishing them up!
Here is a quick view at my collection:

MAC False Lashes: This is probably my holy grail mascara! Sadly I finished it. I might repurchase once I emptied some of my other mascaras. I this came out with the Marcel Wanders collection. The packaging is carved and shiny. I personally really like I find it original and cool. The brush is big and dense and the formula is wet without being excessively so.. It elongates your lashes and gives them volume! I LOVE it!

Maybelline Lash Stiletto: This one is a dark dusty blue. It's decent but not miraculous. I don't wear too much. But I remember I liked it a couple of years ago (different bottle of course!). I gives zero volume though lol. But it does lengthen and separate!

MUFE Aqua Smokey Lash: Okay, I am sorry but I did not like this! It was too clumpy and obvious for my taste. Did it give great lenght and volume? Yes. But I like my lashes to be more separated and evenly coated. I used when I did dark eyes to go out. But other wise, it wasn't shown much love.. :/. Also the waterproofness made it IMPOSSIBLE to get off.

Stila Lash Visor: This has the same big brush the MAC mascara has but the formula is a lot drier. It's a nice daytime mascara as it creates natural and separated lashes.

Maybelline The Falsies: I was really disappointed by this. I don't know if it's because I was expecting too much due to all the hype but I was expecting longue, thick, fluttery lashes. But it didn't do anything for me. So it's a major fail... :(

The following ones are mostly samples, but I find they last so long....

Givenchy Phenomen' Eyes Waterproof: This is the one with the little torture ball as a brush :) Mine is a bright blue color which I love for summer! It's not extremely volumizing or lengthening but it's nice for a hot and humid summer day. It's a fun and subtle pop of color.
Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara: This is the latest addition to my little mascara family. It has a teeny, tiny brush to get those bottom lashes (hence the name, duh!) and doesn't smudge. I find it really intensifies your eyes in a very smoldering and understated way.

Buxom Lash: This has a really long rubber wand with spiky bristles. It really defines and separates my lashes which makes them look and thick.'

Stila Glamorous Eyes: Same concept as the MAC one (AGAIN) but less lengthening. I have been using it as a replacement thought and I am very satisfied.

Smashbox LASH DNA: This one has a really weird HUGE, twisted brush. I personally find it a little big for my eyes but it's not too bad. The mascara itself seems to have fibers in it, which I always find pretty cool!

Clinique Lash Doubling : This has a piramide shaped brush that is pretty thin. It really lengthens my lashes and makes them separated!

Excuse to repetitiveness of this post. Can you notice a pattern in my mascara choices? :)
What are your favorite mascaras? Which ones do you recommend?

The Perfect Summer Lipstick Courtesy of YSL

Summer is all about really bright lips. But it's not always very easy to wear, or appropriate for where you are going. That's when YSL's Rouge Couture n17 Rose Dahlia comes in!

First of all, it's YSL. Isn't it enough? As always the packaging is to die for ( except for the inevitable finger prints)! The rectangle little gold case, the red "YSL". Aaaaah, pure art! It is the chicest thing to pull out of your bag and reapply.
The thing I always hated about their lipsticks though was how creamy they were. Yes, they were moisturizing but their lasting power was --NADA. So what's the point of wearing lipstick if it won't survive getting out our house. Plus, I find they applied a little unevenly on the lips. Anyways, I had great hopes for the Rouge Couture. And I was RIGHT !
It isn't as moisturizing, but it isn't drying at all! It was a good staying power, I'd say, if you don't eat or drink, between 2-4 hours. And the color applies very evenly with a satin finish.

I got this at the Makeup Show, and completely fell in love with the color ( so did my mom and friend by the way, we all got one). Rose Dahlia n17 is a coral-y pink( although it shows more red on the picture).
I love coral and hot/neon lips  lips but find that the bright shade is a little inappropriate for some places, especially for younger girls, like me. This one is great because it is neither too pink, neither too orange, so it's very wearable!
It can be applied sheerly or built up into a more intense color. So it can be worn on any occasion. Or non-occasion. It seriously goes with pretty much anything!

This one will definitely NOT leave my bag and become my summer go to!
Check it out if you can. It's really worth it! Although the price tag is a little aggressive. At least go and swatch it!

What is your summer go to lipstick?

Parian Spirit Brush Cleanser Review&Demo

While I was at the MakeUp Show I purchased a kit of the Parian Spirit Professional Makeup Brush Cleanser.

The Kit was a show special I think, it contained a 16oz bottle of the cleanser, a pot to clean your brushes in, a spray bottle full of products and a couple of cleansing wipes.
I wasn't to sure about this product but then the guy at the counter demo-ed it, and I was blown away! The product smells soo nice, a little like grapefruit. Your brushes are cleaned  very fast, with minimal effort and dry so fast. I'd say 30 minutes TOPS for the really big brushes. Smaller brushes take less than 5 minutes. So it's great if you are in a bit of a rush.

You can either spray some product on your brush and wipe away the product on a tissue, poor some and do the same, use the wipe, or use the methode the guy showed me, which I am going to demonstrate right now.

First you need: the little pot, the brush cleanser, a dirty brush and tissues.

Step 1: Poor some product in the pot that comes with the brush cleanser ( I am sure any little pot would work)

Step 2: Swirl your brush in the product until you feel like everything is out of the brush.

Step 3: Wipe your brush on a tissue to make sure there is no pigment left in your brush, and to get rid of any excess cleanser.

Wait about 2 minutes for your brush to dry and it's ready to be used!

And you are done!

Nails of Summer

Summer is finally here (depending on the days). Summer always puts me in a good mood. The sun, the park, the bright colors! So I am coming out of my hibernation and am starting to go out more and enjoy the weather.
On this jovial note I am ditching my dark, warm nail polishes, and bringing out the bright fun shades!

Sally Hansen HD nail color in Pixel Pretty: This is a nice metallic-y blue. It has a fine green shimmer going through it that gives in a nice duo chrome. It's a very mermaid-y shade.

Orly in Gumdrop: A turquois-ish baby blue with no shimmer what so ever. Applied on the nails it actually looks a lot more turquoise that baby blue. Great opaque consistency.

Chanel Le Vernis in Riva: This a beautiful true baby blue. It has a blue shimmer going through it that is close to impossible to detect on the nails. One of my favorites so far. The only bad thing is that it is incredibly sheer. You need about 3 coats to make sure your nail can't be seen through the color.

Chanel Le Vernis in Rose Insolent: This vibrant hot pink is to die for on the toes. I have to admit I find it a little bit too Barbie for my hands though. But it will make your feet look sophisticated without being boring.

Sally Hansen Insta Dry in Lively Lilac: A lilac with a slight white shimmer ( once again hardly noticeable). It is pinkier that your usual lilac, but still very nice.

Orly in Rage: I am sure I don't need to say much about this oh-so-famous color! The perfect Rose Gold nail polish!

Bourgeois So Laque in 33 Tangerine Fatal: This is the perfect coral shade. A lot more on the orange side that anything else it looks gorgeous with tanned skin.

Another perfect summer shade ( that I don't own but am DESPERATELY lusting for) is Chanel's new Mimosa. The perfect yellow! I know yellow might seem like a big no no for some, but take the plunge, you won't regret it! It looks amazing and is one of this summer's it colors!

What are your summer nail polishes must haves?
